Q&A
How about YouTube Revenue
a. We mainly use YouTube as the main promotion platform. Music will be given free to YouTube Channel owners in exchange for promotion.
b. With option 2: there will be revenue from YouTube Content Id which comes from videos that do not promote our music nor pay licensing fee to us.
What is upfront MG
a. MG: is short-term “minimum guarantee”, we will pay you first some money and recoup later from revenue. We will pay royalty extra to you only after we finish recouping the MG amount.
b. For example: MG is 50$, revenue share is 50/50
i. Revenue: 50$ → your share is 25$ < 50$ (MG) → no royalty payment
ii. Revenue: 200$ → your share is 100$ > 50$ (MG) → pay royalty 100$-50$ = 50$
Are the tracks distributed as well to DSPs or just YouTube?
For all DSPs, Youtube just is used as the main promotion channel
Are the tracks going to be registered with PROs?
It will not. The reason is to simplify the licensing process for our targeted clients (small global creators, streamers…).
Would I be able to register the tracks on BMI by myself?
It's royalties free music library focus, registering with BMI then create another conflict on licensing model since BMI can chase a client for licensing fee
What is the difference in terms of scaling with revenue from "all income sources" vs "digital platforms"
All income sources in this project are mainly streaming royalty + licensing fee. All income sources option, in general, is better in the long term if the song is popular → more license.
Is this an exclusive opportunity or can I submit tracks that were in other non-ex libraries?
It’s an exclusive music library, we will deliver tracks to YouTube ContentId or other digital stores which require exclusive rights.
Do you have a certain deadline for demo submissions?
There is no real hard deadline but we receive many submissions, therefore submitting your music within 1 week after reading this file is good.
What happens after my demo is accepted?
You are qualified for our projects. We will send you the following email about the agreement and payment option you decide on.
How many tracks are you looking for?
For qualified composers, we expect around 3 EPs (from 4-5 tracks) per month, for the whole year.
How do you plan to release your tracks?
We will decide if we will release it as multiple EPs or a single album. We will handle all work like making album covers, metadata, and delivering to stores…
